Preliminary remarks:


The subject of the tender is the manufacture, supply and installation of thermally insulated folding-sliding doors as specified below.

The options available within the system regarding permitted sash sizes, sash weights, opening types and the infill thicknesses are specified in the system manufacturer´s technical documentation.


The following technical requirements must be met:



Profile technology


Frame depth: 75 mm


Sash depth: 75 mm, reinforced 77,4 mm


Rebate height sash 25 mm


Exterior face widths:

Frame profiles: 27 mm, 41 mm, 47 mm

Transom profiles from 73 mm to 290 mm

Sash profiles: 66 mm, reinforced 76 mm



Construction characteristics


Stainless steel bottom guide rails.


Each carriage equipped with 4 stainless steel rollers.


Sash weights up to 150 kg per sash.


Main and sash profiles as three-chamber hollow profiles, edge radius <= 0.5 mm


In open position, all parts (cover profiles, gaskets, brush seal, lock faceplate, hinges, carriages with cap) in the rebate area are black and makes everything merge into a homogeneous unit.


The profiles are flush.


Glazing principle (glazing beads, setting blocks, sealing system) analogous to the window system with all round EPDM glazing gaskets on the inside and outside.


Sash connections are cutted on miter on every edge.

Mitred corner with system-specific, cavity-filling cast aluminium corner angles, mechanically secured with expansion function and bonded by limited volume glue injection procedure from one side.


Butt joints with system-specific, cavity-filling aluminium profile connectors, limited volume glue injection.

b) Version with reinforced sash profiles


Two options are available for the threshold configuration:

- with gasket stop in connection with a stop seal and a brush seal

- or barrier-free without stop with 2 brush seals.



Thermal insulation


Thermal insulation with continuous PA 6.6 isolating strips with 25% glass fibre content.


Heat transition coefficient of the profile system depending of profile combination:

Uf up to 1,8 W/(m²K) in compliance with EN ISO 10077: 2003


The U values included in the tender must be achievable without inserting additional insulation into the profile cavities.



Proofs and certifications


The suitability of the profile bonding (insulation strip) must be proven by way of a national technical approval test certificate.


Composite profile manufacture is exclusively carried out at the factory. The system manufacturer, profile press plant and manufacturer of the composite materials are all certified in accordance with the ISO 9000 series of standards.


The composite profile system comes with quality assurance and a manufacturer's guarantee, also covering subsequent surface treatments (anodising, wet and powder coating).



Fittings technology


As a matter of principle, only fitting technology that has been certified by the system manufacturer is used.


Basic fittings are supplemented by additional parts in accordance with the size of sash and wind load. Their field of application as well as permitted sash formats depending on infill weights per unit area are specified in the technical system documentation.


The hinges are black and positioned in the vertical gasket area. The diameter of the hinges is in line with the gaskets. The black hinges are integrated into the vertical line of the seal.


The screw heads of the hinges are concealed by black covers. The carriages are covered by black caps.


Active leaf and intermediate sashes with locking towards the top and the bottom, concealed in the profile.


In the closed position, the fixations of the flat handles on the intermediate sashes are invisible.


For outward-opening folding-sliding doors, pull handles are mounted on the hinges to make opening and closing easier and to ensure a discreet integration into the leaves.





Drainage and air pressure equalization


Glazing rebate bottom ventilation secured with bridging blocks designed specifically for this system.


Front cavity drainage or air pressure equalization via externally visible drainage covers.


Alternatively, front cavity drainage or air pressure equalization and drainage in the glazing rebate with no externally visible drainage covers for the transoms.



Glass selection


The possibility to use 3-pane insulating glass up to 60 mm glass thickness must be given. The maximum permitted sash weights must be observed.




The stated specifications are based on the design characteristics, materials and processes of the WICONA - folding-sliding-system WICSLIDE 75FD in accordance with the enclosed system description; these are contractually binding performance requirements.
